Board of Examiners, Appeals, & Condemnation
The BEAC hears cases involving alternate methods & materials for construction; provides reasonable interpretations to the Municipal Code; provides administrative review process for determinations of the Building Official, substandard housing cases, property maintenance, and public nuisance abatement cases.

The Board of Examiners, Appeals, and Condemnation meet once a month, every third Monday, and the hearings are at 1:30 pm located at 100 W. Broadway, Ste. 400, in the Code Enforcement Conference Room.
Cultural Heritage Commission
The Cultural Heritage Commission reviews design of all changes to designated properties, and identifies buildings and neighborhoods with architectural and historical value, recommending designation as City landmarks to the Mayor and City Council and Planning Commission.

Disabled Access Appeals Board
The Disabled Access Appeals Board hears appeals relating to handicapped requirements and access to buildings and structures and grants exceptions to State mandated codes. The LBCIC administers the City’s affordable housing production and rehabilitation programs. It advises the City Council on the delivery of housing and neighborhood revitalization services, and Community Development Block Grant funding (HOME, CDBG, and ESG).

The LBCIC Board meets every third Wednesday of the month, at 4:00 p.m. The meetings are located at 333 West Ocean Blvd., Long Beach CA 90802 (City Hall), on the 3rd Floor in the Large Conference Room.
The Planning Commission advises the Mayor and City Council on all matters affecting development of the City's general plan, zoning and other ordinances to guide the implementation of long range planning.

Sustainable City Commission
The Sustainable City Commission advises the City Council on environmental issues such as buildings and neighborhoods, urban nature, transportation, water, energy, waste reduction and eco products and services, and is responsible for creating a Sustainable City action plan.

Zoning Administrative hearings are conducted by the Zoning Administrator. Standards Variances, Coastal Permits, Minor Lot Line Adjustments, Legalization of Illegal Units, and Lot Mergers are processed through administrative hearings.
