are explained on a set of three boards that characterize the urban design of each place type here.
For each area, there is a set of three documents. The place types map shows the future land use designation for the area. Place types have been designed to reflect the character of existing areas of the city. For most parts of town, these designations match the existing land use and no major changes are anticipated. For a few select areas, mostly along corridors and near transit stations, the designation indicates a different type or increased intensity of development. These opportunity areas are the places where changes are most likely in the next 20 years.
LB2030 is not encouraging any additional growth beyond population changes forecast by recent demographic trends. It is providing a blueprint for that growth to occur in places that will reduce the impact the community.
The neighborhood strategies consist of a map and a set of bullets. The bullets are numbered to match the map. Bullets that describe concepts that are applicable to the entire area or are not location-specific, and are not indicated on the map.
