Effective November 2016, the City of Long Beach now offers electronic plan (e-Plan) submittal and review services to customers. e-Plan will provide a convenient way for applicants to submit construction documents electronically for review and approval across multiple Citywide departments.

The City will utilize the e-PlanCheck (EPC) electronic plan review system to view, mark-up, and comment on electronic submittals. This system provides a comprehensive corrections report, overlay, and side-by-side comparison tools and support for concurrent reviews.

The following steps will help guide you through the E-Plan Check application process:

1. Please review the following documents:

  • Electronic Plan Review Document Submittal Guidelines

2. Submit your E-Plan Check as a .zip file in person, on a flash drive or disk, remotely through email (ensure file size ≤ 35m)*, or a pre-arranged Citrix Sharefile account.

3. When your submission is approved, plan check fees (in accordance with the City's current Fee Schedule) will be assessed. Payment must be received before services are rendered.

Please allow three (3) business day for processing the application. Staff will make every effort to ensure it is processed promptly.
