    • Permit Center Counters

    Individual departments are stationed along the counter in a sequence consistent with the processing of most development permits:

    • Information:
      As you first enter the Center, you are greeted at this position. The services needed will be determined and you will be directed to the appropriate service counter.

    • Planning:
      Regulations governing how a property can be used and the minimum zoning standards for development are supplied at this station.

    • Business License:
      This station accepts applications for business licenses and various regulatory permits required by the Long Beach Municipal Code (You are encouraged to review the section called "Operating Your Business in Long Beach" which contains summary of the requirements for obtaining a business license to operate your business in Long Beach).

    • Public Works/Utilities: (On 10th floor)
      This station provides information and issues permits for road excavations, curb installations, and other construction within the public right-of-way. This station also provides information on water, sewer, and gas line locations. Sewer connection permits issued at this counter.

    • Fire:
      The submittal of plans for installations involving the use or handling of highly flammable materials, large occupancy facilities, and high rise buildings is processed at this counter.

    • Health: (Monday - Friday, 8:30AM - 1:00PM)
      The Health Department is now located on the 4th floor. They can answer simple questions related to the Health Department and will receive plans for facilities with food related services or public swimming pools. Customer may still pick up the reviewed plans as well as meet with the Health Department plan checker at the main office of the Health Department.

    • Building:
      Plans are received and permits are issued at this counter for all building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical construction located on private property.

    • Cashier:
      Fees are paid at this station.
