  • International Code Council
    The International Code Council (ICC) is dedicated to developing model codes and standards used in the design, build and compliance process to construct safe, sustainable, affordable and resilient structures.

  • International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials
    The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) coordinates the development and adaptation of plumbing, mechanical, swimming pool, and solar energy codes to meet the specific needs of individual jurisdictions both in the United States and abroad.

  • City of Long Beach Building Standards Code
    Every three years, Long Beach Development Services (LBDS) is required by State law to enforce the most current edition of the California Building Standards Code to establish uniform standards for the construction and maintenance of buildings, electrical systems, plumbing systems, mechanical systems, and fire and life safety systems.

  • Information Bulletins
    Find several Long Beach Development Permit Center Information Bulletins, or resource guides, that provide consistent and uniform interpretation of Long Beach Building codes, clarify code issues as they relate to new construction and new building technologies, and/or explain new building regulations.

  • California Building Standards Code
    Title 24 of the California Building Standards Code serves as the basis for the design and construction of buildings in California. Improved safety, sustainability, maintaining consistency, new technology and construction methods, and reliability are paramount to the development of building codes.

  • State Fire Marshal's Office Code Interpretations Committee
    The State Fire Marshal's Office established the Code Interpretations Committee (CIC) to research requests for code interpretations. The CIC meets once a month to review and discuss each code interpretation request, then provide recommendations to the Division Chiefs for final endorsement and approval.

  • California Division of the State Architect
    The California Division of the State Architect (DSA) is given the task of regulating the construction of public schools, essentially serving as the building department for public schools. This link provides many of DSA's publications for download.

  • California Department of Housing and Community Development
    The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) protects the health and safety of Californians by enforcing standards for manufactured/factory-built homes. Information Bulletins are periodically issued by HCD to announce changes in laws or regulations, or to clarify issues relating to mobile home and specialty occupancy parks.
